I live in an area known as Hampton Roads. It’s comprised of seven cities: Portsmouth, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, Hampton and Newport News. Then you have Southside and The Peninsula which is Newport News and Hampton. The area has also been known as Tidewater.

Hampton Roads describes the natural harbor the cities surround. This area is home to the worlds largest Naval Station, Nofolk Naval Base. The battle of the Ironclad’s was fought in these waters leading the change to steel ships instead of wood.

This evening I decided to take some pictures along the waterfront from Portsmouth looking over towards the downtown Norfolk skyline. I hope you enjoy these pictures.
