What do you see when you see the image above? For you it’s just a key. Probably a motorcycle since it’s stamped Honda.

For me it holds a lot of memories from 46 years ago. It’s also demonstrates the new Apple iOS 16 feature of being able to grab an image out of a photograph. It’s neat.

You just tap the image and iOS cuts out the item from the background image. Neat.

This key was to my brother’s motorcycle he was killed on in November 1976 when a drunk driver hit him head on, killing him instantly. It’s the last thing of his that I am aware of still in my possession that has a direct connection to him. Something he would have handled and used. So it’s special to me for that reason.

Please don’t drink and drive. It’s not worth the damage you can cause for others. Here almost 50 years later, I’m still haunted by what might have been…
